 RACHEL WITH PRUNES AND PUMPKIN

Necessary products:

2 kg of pumpkin

1 kg of Serena prunes

2 kg of sugar

250 g of walnuts

1 tsp citric acid (limontuse)

5 cloves

Method of preparation:

      Soak the cubed cleaned pumpkin for 2 hours in a lime solution made from 5 liters of water and 150 g of slaked lime. Prunes are soaked in boiling water for an hour. After that, both the pumpkin and the plums are allowed to drain well from the water. Put the sugar and 150 ml of water from the soaked plums in a pan and boil until the sugar melts. Then add the pumpkin and boil until the pieces become transparent and then add the plums, walnuts and cloves. Everything boils for another 5 minutes and the oven is turned off. When it cools down completely, boil again for another 5 minutes and add the citric acid. The warm mixture is filled into jars and put down with the cap.


Plums are a rich source of: Vitamin A, dietary fiber, potassium and honey. Dried plums are low in fat, sodium and cholesterol.

Maintaining normal blood pressure and heart function.

In men, eating foods high in potassium, as well as foods rich in magnesium and fiber, significantly reduces the risk of heart attack.

Potassium can counteract the increase in urinary calcium loss caused by foods high in salt and therefore, from here, also prevents faster thinning of bones.
