CANTUCCINI

Cantuccini? The name itself sounds delicious, right?
With almonds, lots of almonds inside. With coffee, tea, even cognac after dinner!


Necessary products:

250 g of flour

1 tsp baking powder

165 g of sugar

3 eggs

100 g of pitted prunes Serena

1 tbsp. crushed almonds

2-3 candied orange peels

Method of preparation:

The oven is heated to 180 degrees. During this time, the eggs and sugar are beaten

mix the flour and baking powder in a deep bowl. Add the beaten eggs and sugar, mix well and add the finely chopped prunes, almonds and orange peels. Knead the dough, if it is more sticky, add a little more flour.

No fat is added to the mixture!

The dough is formed into small baguettes and placed in a tray covered with paper. They are baked for about 20 minutes. After they have cooled, they are cut into slices lengthwise. Place them back on the tray and bake once more for 10-15 minutes. The more they bake, the drier and crispier they become. When they cool down, store in a candy box.


Prunes are naturally sweet. Therefore, they can be a tasty substitute and a healthy way to satisfy a sweet tooth.
