A pinch of salt

👩🍳Instructions
1. Preparing the dried oranges Cut the dried oranges into small pieces. If they are quite firm, soak them for 10 minutes in a little warm water or orange juice, then drain well.
2. Preparing the batter Beat the eggs with the sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy. Add the vegetable oil, milk, vanilla, and grated orange zest.
3. Adding the dry ingredients Mix the flour with the baking powder and salt. Gradually add them to the egg mixture, stirring until the consistency is uniform.
4. Adding Flavorings Add the chopped dried oranges, chocolate, and coarsely crushed almonds. Mix gently using a spatula.
5. Baking Pour the mixture into a cake pan that has been greased and dusted with flour. Bake in a preheated oven at 170°C for about 40–45 minutes. Check for doneness using a wooden skewer.
6. Decoration Allow the cake to cool. Drizzle with melted dark chocolate and decorate with slices of dried orange and slivered almonds. Why add dried oranges to homemade desserts? Dried oranges are a wonderful way to introduce a natural citrus aroma and an interesting texture to various sweet and savory recipes. They can be used in: Cakes, muffins, and homemade sweets. Chocolate desserts and brownies. Homemade granola and oat-based breakfasts. Teas and aromatic winter beverages. Decorating cakes, creams, and festive pastries.
Tip: The combination of dried oranges, dark chocolate, and nuts works exceptionally well. The citrus note balances the sweetness of the chocolate and gives the dessert a richer flavor.
